Abstract:
Elizabeth’s 21st CCLC Program will collaborate with multiple partners to assist students in achieving the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards by providing a broad array of services that meet identified needs. The after-school and summer programs are intended to motivate students via academic enrichment, technology applications that focus on science and math concepts, and visual & performing arts that include multicultural dance and chorus, and related production skills (recording and staging). Character education, study skills, and career awareness will be infused throughout the programs. Special programs will also be offered including the Math and Science Academy for Latino adolescents and College for Teens to explore careers in science, technology, and business. Parents and families will be served through unique literacy and enrichment programs offered in the evening and on Saturday, including the College for Families and Parents for Excellence.
