Abstract:
The LEAP Academy’s 21st Century Community Learning Center focuses on increasing the academic achievement of students by exposing them to comprehensive high-quality services after-school hours and during the summer months, while also increasing the behavioral skills of students by infusing research-based character education content into the various activities to be offered. The program will also offer a variety of family-oriented programming to ensure that adult family members and siblings can also be engaged in learning opportunities at the school.
LEAP 21st CCLC is based in the concept of partnerships and collaboration and brings together a number of organizations with diverse expertise to sustain a program that is high-quality, is based on best practice, offers a diverse portfolio of activities and services ranging from academic enrichment to music and dance, is aligned to the instructional program of the school, maximizes the uses of the school buildings after hours and offers programs in a fun and entertaining environment to ensure high-student participation and retention.
