Abstract:
The Passaic Public Schools (PPS) have mobilized a dedicated and accomplished team of 17 partner and collaborating organizations to foster student achievement in daily after-school and four-week intensive summer programs at three inner-city elementary schools and one middle school for students in grades four through eight. In the face of grave economic and academic disadvantages, and gang-ridden streets, the NJ 21st Century Community Learning Centers “Quality of Life” Program in Passaic will provide 250 students and at least 250 family members with supportive experiences as significant catalysts in facilitating the transition of raw aptitude into relevant achievement.
