Principal Practice Instruments
Principal practice is measured through performance on a principal practice evaluation instrument. Every school district in New Jersey is able to select from a list of approved principal practice instruments that are research based. Districts also have the opportunity to create their own practice instrument and submit it during our announced RFQ opportunities throughout the year.
Observations using the principal practice instrument will be required at least two times during the year and can be completed using a variety of information sources that can include:
- School walkthrough
- Case studies
- Observation of staff meeting, school assembly
- Parent conference observation
- Teacher conference observation
