ASCD is an international, nonprofit, nonpartisan education
association committed to the mission of forging covenants in
teaching and learning
for the success
of all learners. ASCD provides professional development in curriculum
and supervision; encourages research, evaluation, and theory development;
and disseminates information
on education issues.

Exceptional Children (CEC)
CEC
provides training on issues affecting special educators, including
topics such as preparing
students for transitions, working
with students with autism spectrum disorders, beginning reading instruction,
and new
developments in brain research.

Commission of the States (ECS)
ECS is a 37-year-old nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing
the states' interest
in education. The ECS web site provides a wealth of information
on dozens of education issues, from accountability to vouchers. There
is an extensive section

The New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) advocates
high standards for librarianship and library media programs
in the public, private and parochial schools in New Jersey
to ensure that students and staff become effective users
of information.

NABE is exclusively concerned with the education of language-minority

NCATE is a coalition of specialty professional associations

organization serves as the profession's mechanism for establishing
