Audit Information

The Report on the National Single Audit Sampling Project issued by the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency in June 2007 has identified numerous errors in the single audits. Similar deficiencies/errors have been detected by the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Fiscal Accountability and Compliance (OFAC) during quality assessment reviews of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs) submitted by or on behalf of New Jersey school districts and charter schools. To address single audit deficiencies and to enhance the overall quality of single audits, the OFAC has designed the Single Audit Summary Sheet. This summary replaces the Type A Programs Worksheets, and the ACFR Submission Checklist and is required as part of the ACFR reporting package submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education on an annual basis. Shaded areas are entered by the department or are automatically calculated. The auditor must complete sections A,C, E and F for every district and Section D of the summary for districts that have a federal and/or state single audit. The worksheet can be accessed from the link shown below:
