Charter Schools Grants Update
Dissemination 5
The three projects funded under the Dissemination 5 grant began July 1, 2008.
In compliance with recent federal guidance on dissemination, Dissemination 5 focuses on direct and ongoing technical assistance partnerships between charter schools. Each partnership receives $100,000 in funds for one year to focus on areas such as curriculum development and educational best practices.
Unity Charter School
Unity Charter School is partnering with Ridge and Valley Charter School to develop Efs (Education for sustainability) curriculum units that incorporate environmental themes into areas such as mathematics and literature study. Teachers at the two schools will work together on the units and students from both schools will participate together in the resulting lessons and activities.

TEAM Academy Charter School
TEAM Academy Charter School
TEAM Academy Charter School is partnering with Freedom Charter School. New Jersey’s two KIPP schools will work together to develop a culture of sharing internally and externally that gives teachers and other staff members resources to serve all of their students to the best of their abilities. The two schools will install a server at Freedom and use specialized software across both campuses that allows staff to develop stronger curriculum and more sustainable administrative practices. Both schools’ curricula will be available on a shared basis and all of the teachers will be able to collaborate long-distance on improving their schools in meaningful ways.
