PROGRAM:

The mission of the Kenilworth School District is to provide an education which identifies and addresses individual needs by planning and implementing a stimulating and balanced curriculum which maximizes the utilization of all available resources to develop productive citizens who think analytically, communicate effectively and demonstrate high self-esteem, moral integrity and a commitment to continuous personal growth and development in preparation for meeting the demands of the future.

The David Brearley Middle/High School offers an excellent setting for students interested in a small, personalized and caring educational experience. The middle school provides 7th and 8th grade students with a solid instructional program utilizing a modified block schedule that allows for extended instructional periods in mathematics, social studies, language arts and science. Students may also explore subjects such as Spanish, Italian, art, music, family and consumer science, and technology through a series of cycle courses.

The comprehensive high school program includes both basic and advanced level courses in a wide variety of subject areas including language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, world languages, the arts, and office system technology. Through a partnership with Schering-Plough, Kenilworth offers an outstanding science program with up-to-the-minute laboratory equipment including a computer program that allows students to design buildings, spacecraft and bridges. The design of the high school curriculum and course of study reflects the overall philosophy of the Coalition of Essential Schools and a commitment to high standards and high levels of achievement for all students.
