PROGRAM:

Passaic County Manchester Regional is a comprehensive high school offering a wide variety of programs ranging from technology, which includes the Regional Cisco Networking Academy and an Oracle Internet Academy, to a workplace readiness program that includes opportunities for student employment. The district will offer the opportunity to enroll in its Technology Program to school choice program students.

The Technology Program consists of Computer Assisted Design (CAD) I-II, CAD A (Architectural) and CAD M (Mechanical). CAD I introduces the student to the equipment, drafting industry standards and terminology. Students are also introduced to basic drafting industry standards and terminology, as well as basic drafting and design. CAD II further enhances what students have learned in CAD I and places greater emphasis on more challenging projects and the finer points of drafting standards. CAD A and CAD M concentrate on more specific areas.

Students at Manchester Regional participate in the Cisco Regional Training Academy, in which they move from an understanding of all the physical and logical construction of a computer network through advanced network design. Upon completion of this program, students are eligible to take a Cisco Examination to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Manchester is also home to an Oracle Internet Academy, a two-year course of study on database management and design which leads to Oracle Certified Professional certification.

In both the Cisco and the Oracle programs, students not only develop the technical skills they need to survive in today's ever-advancing information age, but also acquire the business and logic skills they will carry throughout their lives. With either of the certifications available through these programs, students will be well on the road to an interesting and high paying job in Information Technology.
