SCHOOL CHOICE PROGRAM STUDENTS:
PROGRAM: Upper Freehold Regional School District has opened spaces in its agricultural program at Allentown High School for students participating in the Interdistrict Public School Choice Program. The award-winning agricultural science program at Allentown High School offers excellent opportunities for students to pursue vital and realistic career aspirations in the field of agriculture and related areas. The courses available in the program include botany; greenhouse, nursery and landscape management; zoology/veterinary and equine studies; agricultural mechanics; and a cooperative agricultural education experience. Students in the agricultural science program have the opportunity to participate in the Allentown High School chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA). FFA is the only national youth organization to be chartered and mandated by federal legislation and is recognized by Congress as an integral part of agricultural education. The FFA program provides the real world experience associated with classroom theory and instruction, and makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
