Directions to the Union County Office New Jersey Department of Education

Coming North:
Use Garden State Parkway to Exit 135. Stay left at exit (Westfield), then bear right onto traffic circle. Go ¾ of the way around circle and take Central Avenue straight into Westfield for approximately 2-3/4 miles. After going underneath R.R. overpass, make right turn onto North Avenue. Go beyond the parking lot for the Drug Fair strip mall on your right, and park on the street. Our two-story brick building is adjacent to the strip mall and across from the Westfield Diner. Please enter through the front doors, proceed to the second floor, and check in with the reception office.

Coming East from Somerset County:
(via Route 22) Leave 22 on Lawrence Street, Westfield. This runs into Mountain Avenue. Make a right onto Mountain Avenue. When Mountain Avenue ends at Broad Street (just after passing old Presbyterian Church on left) make a right onto Broad Street and a quick left onto Central Avenue. At the first traffic light, make a left onto North Avenue, East. Go beyond the parking lot for the Drug Fair strip mall on your right, and park on the street. Our two-story building is adjacent to the strip mall and across from the Westfield Diner. Please enter through the front doors, proceed to the second floor, and check in with the reception office.

Coming South:
Use Garden State Parkway to Exit 137—right on Route 28 (North Avenue), toward Cranford and continue a little over 3 miles through Cranford, Garwood and into Westfield. You will pass various General Motors and Chrysler car dealerships. Our two-story brick building is 1/10 of a mile past the dealerships on your left. Parking is on the street. Please enter through the front doors, proceed to the second floor, and check in with the reception office.

Alternate South:
If you come through Springfield, cross Route 22 on Springfield Avenue and continue about 1-1/2 miles to Broad Street. Make a right on Broad Street. When you pass the Westfield Municipal Building and Park (it will be on your right) stay on your left lane to turn into St. Paul Street (a big stone church is on the left corner). Take this street to the end, and make a right onto North Avenue (you will be across from the county employee parking lot). Our two-story brick building will be on your left. Parking is on the street. Please enter through the front doors, proceed to the second floor, and check in with the reception office.

Turnpike users take Exit 11 to Garden State Parkway North and follow directions above.
