Access to NJDOE Homeroom and SAGE

Working in SAGE

  1. The Organizational Information Review Page will not allow me to update any information on the page. How do I edit my information on this page?

  5. I can't find a place to enter the details about each item I am purchasing. Where do I find that?

Access to NJDOE Homeroom and SAGE

  1. Where do I go to access my district's Performance Report?
    Go to NJDOE Homeroom: http://homeroom.state.nj.us/ and click on Perkins Performance. Use your username/password to login and retrieve your district's Perkins Performance file. See question three below if you cannot login.

  2. How do I access SAGE?
    Go to the SAGE web site: http://www.sage.nj.gov/ and use your username and password to login. Contact your district's "District Authorized Official" to get a username and password. If you need more help accessing the system, please contact sagehelp@doe.state.nj.us.

  3. My username and password are not working in NJDOE Homeroom. What should I do?
    Contact your district's NJ Homeroom Administrator to make sure you have a valid username/password. Existing passwords (such as for EWEG) will not work in NJDOE Homeroom. If your SAGE login is not working, see question number four.

  4. My username and password are not working in SAGE. What should I do?
    Contact your district's "District Authorized Official" (DAO) to make sure you have a valid username/password to access the Perkins application. The DAO may or may not be the same person who can grant you access in NJDOE Homeroom.

  5. How do I obtain a username/password for SAGE or NJDOE Homeroom?
    For access to SAGE: Contact your district's "District Authorized Official"(DAO) to request a username and password for the Perkins application. For NJDOE Homeroom: Contact your district's NJ Homeroom Administrator. The person who issues usernames and passwords for SAGE and NJDOE Homeroom may or may not be the same person at your district.

Working in SAGE

  1. The Organizational Information Review Page will not allow me to update any information on the page. How do I edit my information on this page?
    If the information page needs to be edited, it will be edited on a different page called "Additional Information." Please refer to the Perkins SAGE Manual or the Perkins SAGE Instructional Video for guidance on editing this page.

  2. How do I submit the application?
    Go to the Perkins Forms Menu. Look on the left-hand side for the section called "Status Management" and click "Change Status." This is different than in the previous EWEG program where you had to run a consistency check and then click "Submit Application". Please make sure the pages have no errors on them before you attempt to submit. Please review the SAGE Perkins Instructional Video and SAGE Perkins Manual for step-by-step instructions.

  3. SAGE will not allow me to submit my application.
    Make sure all errors have been resolved on all pages. There should be no "orange stop signs" next to the page names. If you see any stop signs next to the page name, it means there are errors on the page. Errors must be corrected in order to submit the application.
        OR
    Contact your district's NJ Homeroom Administrator to make sure you have the proper authorization level to be able to submit the application.

  4. I want to make changes to my Five-Year Plan. How do I do it?
    Changes to the Five-Year Plan can be made at any time during the project period. However, during the application submission, changes must be made to the Five-Year Plan document and uploaded on the Five-Year Plan page in the SAGE application. The Five-Year plan must be NJDOE approved before the SAGE application can receive final approval.

  5. I can't find a place to enter the details about each item I am purchasing. Where do I find that?
    The Perkins SAGE application has been consolidated and does not include budget detail, only a budget summary. Please read and follow the Perkins Guidelines to ensure your district is using the proper function and object codes for calculating your budget. Enter only the total for each function and object code on the "Budget Summary" page in the SAGE application. Be sure to properly enter totals for "Instructional" and "Non-Instructional" items on this page.
