The salary figures in the 2005 Administrative Salaries Report have been collected as of October 15, 2005 as part of the Department of Education’s annual Certificated Staff Collection. The salary figures represent the contracted base salaries and do not include fringe or other benefits. When using this report, be aware that the salary reported was the one in effect on October 15, 2005. The salary may have changed subsequent to that date. Therefore, before using the information, it would be prudent to verify the figure with the school district for any changes or errors. The purpose for the report is to give the public an annual snapshot of administrative salaries budgeted by the local school district.
The attached spreadsheet contains salary information for the following administrative positions as reported by the local school districts: the chief school administrator/district superintendent, administrative assistant to the district superintendent, school business administrator, assistant superintendent (other than business), and assistant superintendent for business. It is arranged by county.
Most central office administrators are employed fulltime for twelve months. However, some vary from that pattern and the variations are indicated in columns one and six. In some districts an administrator may have more than one job responsibility which is indicated by the percentage of time dedicated to each title. In some instances a district may not have a chief school administrator position listed. This may mean that the position was not filled on October 15 or that the district has a chief school administrator shared with another district. When an administrator has only a part-time salary listed and no other job responsibility indicated, he or she also may be in a shared contract.
