Re-envisioning Leadership through
the
Prism of the Instructional Core
Dr. Pedro Noguera is the premier researcher of our times who has consistently researched and studied the impact of the specific variables that can change the learning outcomes for both the teachers and the students. Dr. Noguera has been in the forefront of the current studies on the importance of the school culture in changing the dynamics of teaching and learning for all populations of the school. He will focus his keynote address on the most critical actions and behaviors of the school leaders that contribute to the success of the learning outcomes for students.
He will provide the vision for the charge of the conference and for the work of the Leader to Leader Turnaround Leadership Network for New Jersey. To paraphrase a statement from one of his many publications where he discussed both the internal and external constraints on schools as they grapple with the nuisances of school reform and change; it is the role of the leader to serve as the source of “renewed hope of the possibilities that the changes can become a reality.”

This interactive session has been crafted for educational leaders who wish to improve their overall public speaking skills and learn some new techniques in delivering a successful message on data results. Participants will learn the characteristics of an effective speech and how to present an informative speech, a persuasive speech, as well as strategies for using PowerPoint to supplement a data presentation.
