State Program Approval Council (SPAC)
New Jersey's SPAC serves a vital role in the approval process for educator preparation programs. Specifically, the role of the SPAC is to:

The Commissioner will appoint 11 members to SPAC:
We aim to select a diverse cross-section of members that can represent a variety of viewpoints.
Membership is voluntary and offers many benefits to both the members and the Department, including opportunities for professional growth and networking, as well as the chance to shape state decisions and policies that ultimately impact educator quality and student success. Please note that membership does not include meals, mileage reimbursement, or stipends.
Applicants must commit to serving a two-year term, spending an average of one hour per week reviewing applications, and attending the following meetings at the Department (100 Riverview Plaza, Trenton, NJ):
January 28, 2016- 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
March 15, 2016- 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
May 17, 2016- 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
September 8, 2016- 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
December 8, 2016- 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
SPAC Application Process
