The office is responsible for the development and administration of fiscal standards and other initiatives to promote or achieve efficiency within public schools. It also provides guidance and coordinates the consolidation of services among public school districts and other interested agencies. The office develops and administers policy on the financial operations of charter schools. It prepares the school finance statistics for public dissemination in publications such as the Comparative Spending Guide and School Report Card. The office is also responsible for regulations on public school tuition rates, school registers, and attendance.
