UNSAFE SCHOOL CHOICE OPTION POLICY POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

Information sessions on the Unsafe School Choice Option policy were held in August for the three regions of the state (north, central and south). The sessions in the northern region were held on August 15, 2003 and August 18, 2003 at Passaic County Technical Institute. The central region session was held on August 22, 2003 at the Hunterdon County Administration Building Complex in Flemington, NJ and the southern region session was held on August 21, 2003 at Gloucester County College. The purpose of the information sessions was to provide comprehensive information on the Unsafe School Choice Option policy for New Jersey’s schools. The target audience for the information sessions was key school district administrators. The PowerPoint presentation reviewed the context of the policy under No Child Left Behind (NCLB), the criteria for schools being identified as "persistently dangerous," school choice options for students and the responsibilities of school districts for complying with this mandate.
