Resources for Educators to Prepare Students
For the Commemoration of September 11, 2001

To help teachers, administrators and parents prepare students and the general school community for the commemoration of the events of September 11, 2001, the New Jersey Department of Education has assembled a list of resources that may be useful in addressing questions, concerns, reactions and fears among their students related to the anniversary of this national catastrophe.

The list of Websites includes practical guidelines and strategies on helping school staff prepare for the anniversary, free resources and activity ideas to observe American Character Week (September 6th through September 17th, 2002) and additional information and materials on emergency preparedness, school safety, stress management, conflict resolution and multicultural awareness.
