State Board of Education Honors #1 Ranked Student As Its June Student of the Month
The State Board of Education honored Cristine Cairoli, a senior at Lindenwold High School in Camden County, as its June Student of the Month.
Cristine, who is ranked first academically in her senior class at Lindenwold High School, is a member of the National Honor Society and is an Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar.
"Cristines academic achievements alone are worthy of recognition," said State Board President Arnold G. Hyndman. "But her leadership responsibilities in both school and community service merit accolades as well. We are pleased to acknowledge her personal success and for demonstrating success in leading others." Cristine is her schools cheerleading squads captain, a volunteer with the Red Cross, and a co-founder of a literacy mentoring program.
"Clearly, Cristines success both in the classroom and in her community bodes well for her future," added Commissioner of Education William L. Librera. "The recognitions she has received regarding her personal achievements in so many disciplines are examples for all of New Jerseys students." Cristine has received a total of 15 varsity letters for cheerleading, wrestling, track and field and softball and has achieved the rank of high purple in Tae Kwon Do. Additionally, she has also been honored for her participation in her schools concert band.
Each month during the school year, the State Board recognizes a student or group of students for accomplishments in community service, the arts, academics, and sports. Last month, the State Board honored Alison Boyd, a senior at Newton High School in Sussex County.
