Department of Education Seeks Public Input
on Five-Year Plan for Career and Technical Education
The New Jersey Department of Education is seeking public comment and input on its draft of the Five-Year State Plan for Career and Technical Education (CTE), as required under the federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act.

In addition, the Department of Education has scheduled three regional public hearings to receive public testimony and input as follows:
Monday, December 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Southern Regional Office of the Department of Education, located at 1492 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ 08080-4222.
Tuesday, December 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Community Center, County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph, NJ 07869-2086. Parking in Lot #7 only.
Thursday, December 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Judge Robert L. Carter Building, Department of Education, 100 Riverview Plaza, Trenton, NJ 08625-0500.
The federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act provides important incentives for accountability and local programs for career and technical education. New Jersey receives approximately $25 million in Perkins funding annually.
The draft CTE state plan was developed with input from the New Jersey Career and Technical Education Advisory Council, a 35-member group representing government, industry, business and education.
