Trenton, NJ – "Last week, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan named Bergen County Technical High School in Bergen County, Betsy Ross School in Mahwah, Communications High School in Monmouth County, Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science in Ocean County, Mary A. Hubbard Elementary School in Ramsey, Middlesex County Vocational School in Middlesex County, Union County Vocational-Technical School in Union County, West Caldwell Tech in Essex County and Willard Elementary School in Ridgewood, as 2012 Blue Ribbon Schools because of their students' academic achievements last year. I want to congratulate the students, teachers, principals and parents at these nine schools for all of their hard work and dedication in ensuring their students are making strong academic progress and are on track to graduate college or career ready. Only a few schools in the nation receive Blue Ribbon honors each year, and it is such an honor for the outstanding work and remarkable progress of these schools to be spotlighted nationally."
