The following writing sample for the Sample Persuasive Writing Prompt B scored a "3" based on the New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric.
Scorers made the following comments about the sample below:
The writer takes a position on the junk food ban (I am against it because most of thease foods I've listed are being served at our homes and restaurants and youl have a lot of kids mad at you). However, these are flaws in organization and development. For example, in addition to taking a position on the junk food ban, the writer proposes a way to support the ban on junk food. The opening paragraph is limited, there is no concluding paragraph, and the errrors in mechanics keep this paper at the partial command of language.
