The following  writing sample for the Writing To Speculate Prompt scored a "2-3" based on the New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric.  

Scorers made the following comments about the sample below:

This sample shows numerous mechanical and organizational errors. There is some development of the meaning of the chair, but there is no real story told. The sentence structure is unsophisticated, and the writer does not demonstrate any compositional risks.
