The following  writing sample for the Writing To Speculate Prompt scored a "3" based on the New Jersey Registered Holistic Scoring Rubric.  

Scorers made the following comments about the sample below:

This sample shows no dialogue or other compositional risks. There is very little vivid language and several mechanical errors. However, the piece does demonstrate a lesson learned.
