Help
using this site
This site is designed so that any user should
be able to navigate it with some ease after a little bit of practice.
Here are a few tips to help you with your navigation of this site.
First, clusters divide up this site. On the
math side there are four: Number Sense, Concepts and Applications;
Spatial Sense and Geometry; Data Analysis, Probability, Statistics
and Discrete Mathematics; and Patterns, Functions, and Algebra.
You can navigate to each area in several different
ways. The first is by clicking on the diagram on the welcome page
that looks like this:

If you click on any of the clusters on the main
page then it will send you to that section. [This will not work
here on the help page.]
Or you can get to the Table of Contents by clicking
on the link in the first paragraph of the welcome page. The link
looks like this.
Table of Contents
From the table of contents, you can click on
any of the links to get to any of the clusters that you would like.
Once inside a cluster the format is the same from cluster to cluster.
Each cluster has three main areas that you can go to: summary of
content tested, sample multiple choice, and sample open-ended questions.
You can click on each section to view the contents of each.
Open-ended questions
The open-ended questions will give you a question,
as well as how the scorers scored it. This will come in a text format
but also a video format as well. The video formats that are available
are Quicktime and RealPlayer. If you do not have the players then
you can click on the following links to download the free software
needed to play the videos.

Once you are inside the clusters, you can navigate
the site by utilizing the links located at the top of every page.
At the top of every page will be words that show the path back to
the main menu. Here is an example:

Multiple-choice questions
All multiple-choice questions
use pop-up windows to elaborate on the answer chosen. This is performed
using a very simple Javascript command. If these buttons do not
work, or a dialogue box does not open, you may need to check your
Internet browser preferences. Newer versions of
both Netscape and Internet Explorer allow the user to disable Javascript
and Java.
