The novel Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde was published in January, 2000, after which the movie was made. 7th grade teachers at Linwood Middle School created instructional materials and planned curriculum to meet district goals after realizing the enormous impact this project might have upon the young adolescents.
