Mentoring

New Jersey teachers seeking licenses are required to complete "one year of full time mentored teaching under a New Jersey provisional license" (from Licensing and Credentials). A mentoring program consists of two parts or two people: the mentor and the novice teacher. This section is devoted to the training of mentors and related research.

Let's look at some research and ideas on how to begin a mentoring program.

NEW! Training for the Toolkit for Mentoring for Quality Induction for district teams. Register on NJDOE Events for training in May or June.
