Rubrics are easy to score. Each box or cell
in the rubric is assigned a number. Just fill in the appropriate
number, and then total each column. The total may lead to a percent score, if that is what you would like. Such a score may be appropriate for a final grade for a project. Rubrics may also be used in formative fashion, however, and may help 'tease out' areas where a student may need help. In the example that we have shown, the student appears to be competent in the science concept but is not meeting the standard for two language arts literacy cumulative progress indicators (3.3.4 and 3.3.17). Let's check out the scored rubric. |
