Zika Virus Response Planning & Webinar: Guidance for District and School Administrators – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed interim guidance for school districts on public health actions pertaining to Zika virus infection. In addition, the U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with the CDC, will host a webinar, "Zika Virus Response Planning: What School Administrators Need to Know," from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 19. The webinar will provide information on how schools can prepare for potential cases of Zika.
Fourth Annual National Suicide Prevention Day Conference* – A suicide-prevention conference titled "Back to School: Take a Breath" is being presented on September 12 in New Brunswick by the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies and Attitudes In Reverse. The free conference is designed for people in the education and healthcare fields. Registration and program information is online.
Jersey Fresh Farm to School Week September 26-30, 2016 – State law designates the last week of September as Jersey Fresh Farm to School Week. During this celebration, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture showcases schools that purchase local produce from New Jersey farmers for school meals, and encourage students to eat healthy produce through school gardens and nutrition education.
