The following PowerPoint slides were
designed to accompany the documents used at the second technical assistance
session (TA #3) regarding the Professional Development Initiative for
School Leaders. The slides and documents provided to participants at
TA #3 are intended to be used to build school leader capacity regarding
the professional learning requirements listed in N.J.A.C. 6A:9-16. The Professional Development Initiative
for School Leaders seeks to build the instructional leadership capabilities
of principals, supervisors, and superintendents through a standard-based
and job-embedded approach to professional growth. The 2004-05 academic year, is a "developmental
year" for the initiative. The developmental year allows for training,
preparation and feedback from the field prior to full implementation.
This is part of the New Jersey Department of Education’s commitment
to educators as we partner with the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors
Association, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators and
others to implement another meaningful, high quality professional learning
component within New Jersey education.
