Region 6

Marti Hill
Marti HillMarti Hill is a program specialist with the Regional Achievement Center in Region 6.  Currently, Marti serves as the Senior Lead Educator for Literacy / Social Studies in grades K - 5 in Camden City Schools.  She is responsible for curriculum design, professional development, program selection, and teacher evaluations in literacy / social studies across 17 schools.  In this role, Ms. Hill works closely with teachers, schools, and district administrators to continue to support balanced literacy instruction and prepare students for success in both collegiate and career endeavors.  Prior to joining the School Support team in Camden, she served as a Lead Educator, reading interventionist / literacy coach, and a teacher where she showed significant gains in student achievement.  Marti earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management from Delaware State University.  Her graduate work includes advanced graduate studies in curriculum and instruction from Drexel University, and Masters Degrees in Reading / Literacy from Walden University and School Leadership from Wilmington University.

Janell Williams
Janell WilliamsJanel Williams is a program specialist with the Regional Achievement Center in Region 6.   Janel currently serves as the Senior Lead Educator of Math / Science 6 - 12 in the School Support division for Camden City Schools.  Janel develops and supervises math and science programs for 22 schools in the Camden City School District.  Previously, Janel served as a math educator for over 17 years in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  In that time, Janel has effectively taught and supervised mathematics resulting in significant student achievement.   Janel earned a Masters in Math Education and a Masters in School Leadership from the City University of New York.

Christie Whitzell
Ms. Christie Whitzell is a program specialist with the Regional Achievement Center in Region 6.  Christie currently serves as a Senior Lead Educator in the Division of School Support for the Camden City School District.  In her role as a Senior Lead Educator, Christie is responsible for curriculum development and implementation, professional development for teachers and school leaders, and teacher coaching and observations.  Previously, she worked in the Camden City School District as a Teacher Coach / Evaluator, Supervisor of Language Arts Literacy K - 5, and Supervisor of Early Childhood Education.  Christie previously worked for the New Jersey Department of Education's Office of Early Literacy as a Literacy Coach and for the Office of Reading First as a Regional Coordinator.  She has taught both general and special education students in kindergarten through fourth grade.  Christie earned a BA in General and Special Education from La Salle University, a MA in Reading Education from Rowan University, and a M.Ed. from Wilmington University.  She currently holds the following certifications in the State of New Jersey: Principal (CE), Reading Specialist, Supervisor, Elementary School Teacher, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities.

Tonya R. Wilson
Tonya R. WilsonTonya R. Wilson is a program specialist with the Regional Achievement Center in Region 6. Tonya serves as the Senior Director of Instructional Technology in the Division of School Support for Camden City School District. Tonya oversees the integration of instructional technology in the district, provides professional development to all staff; engages in cross - division collaborations, and provides support with PARCC administration. Tonya has manages various district initiatives: Curriculum writing, technology liaison turnkey training, summer technology institutes, technology integration, distance learning coordination, the Discovery Educator Network, support of staff professional development and various student / teacher management systems.  In the past, Tonya has worked as an instructor for the Summer Institute for the Gifted. Tonya earned her BA in Elementary Education and Sociology from Rowan University and a Masters in Educational Technology & Curriculum from the University of Phoenix.  She holds a New Jersey Supervisor certification. She is currently working towards her Educational Leadership certification with Wilmington University.
