Jersey State Board of Education The permanent student representative to the State Board of Education is selected through the N. J. Association of Student Councils (NJASC). The student representative serves as the State Board’s liaison to the student community. The student representative serves for 12 months as a non-voting member at the public meetings of the State Board of Education. The student representative also makes presentations to the State Board on an educational topic of interest to him or her, and introduces the student guest invited to speak at each public meeting.
