Jersey State Board of Education The Permanent Student Representative to the New Jersey State Board of Education is selected through the New Jersey Association of Student Councils (NJASC). The Student Representative serves as the State Board’s liaison to the student community. For 12 months, the student representative serves as a non-voting member in the public meetings of the New Jersey State Board of Education. The student representative also provides presentations to the State Board on an educational topic of interest to him or her and introduces the student guest invited to speak to the State Board, Department staff and the public at each monthly public meeting.
