EQuIP Rubric

"

Through the Common Core State Standards, classrooms are becoming forums of learning as both teachers and students engage in complex thinking and dialogue. Engagement, innovation and creativity are all non-negotiables to implementing the Common Core."

Bob Price, Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Northern Valley
The EQuIP (Educators Evaluating the Quality of Instructional Products) Rubrics are evaluation tools created to determine lesson and unit alignment to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The rubrics assess instructional materials based on four dimensions:

  • Alignment to the depth of the CCSS
  • Key instructional shifts in the CCSS
  • Instructional supports
  • Assessment

EQuIP Rubrics assist educators to evaluate existing lessons, develop new lessons and units, and receive criterion-based feedback on lesson plans.

EQuIP is an initiative of the American Diploma Project that builds on the "Tri-State Rubrics" developed collaboratively by education leaders in Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island and facilitated by Achieve.
