- District of employment applies for emergency certification through the
county office of education
- Educational interpreter provides district supervisor with the following:
- EIPA certificate with original
seal demonstrating performance skill with score of 3.0 or higher
- High school diploma/GED or higher degree
- Current fee for the standard endorsement, payable to the Commissioner
of Education

- Emergency Certification may be renewed 3 times
- District supervisor and/or human resources department will monitor
progress towards achieving standard endorsement

- As of May 2009, the Educational Interpreter must apply on-line at :

- Documentation of RID/NAD certification (for performance route only)
- EIPA certificate with original seal demonstrating proficiency with a
score of 3.0 or higher
- Documentation of completion of 15 semester hours of professional course

- Current fee for the standard endorsement, payable to the Commissioner of
Education

issued to a candidate with the following credentials:
- high school diploma or GED
- national certification from a Department-approved national accrediting
agency (e.g. Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
