3a. District Achievement of AYP for the Disability Subgroup Calculation: A district is considered not meeting the state AYP objective for progress for the disability subgroup if the district missed at least one AYP target (participation or proficiency in language arts literacy or mathematics) in each tested grade span. A “NO” for this indicator means that the district received at least an “N” in B (Participation Rate) or C (Proficiency Rate) at each grade span (i.e. grades 3-5, 6-8 and 11).

3b. Participation Rate for the Disability Subgroup Calculation: The participation rate for each tested grade span for the disability subgroup is calculated by dividing the number of students with IEPs who participated in the general assessments in the grade span, with or without accommodations, plus the number of students who participated in the APA in their grade span, by the total number of students with IEPs enrolled in the district as reported by the districts at the time of the administration of the general assessments. The minimum ‘n’ size for participation for each grade span is 40 students. 3c. Proficiency Rate for the Disability Subgroup Calculation: The proficiency rate for each tested grade span for the disability subgroup is calculated by dividing the number of students with IEPs who scored proficient or advanced proficient on either the general assessment for their grade or the APA, by the total number of students with IEPs enrolled in the district as reported at the time of the assessments.
