The Camden County Technical Schools will develop an Assistive Technology Training and Resource Center for the southern region of the state. An advisory board will be established to develop assistive technology activities that align with the regulations of the New Jersey Department of Education and with the Individual with Disabilities Act of 1990. Professional development workshops will be designed around four themes: understanding assistive technology, the Fundamental Assessment Process, cross-platform hardware and software solutions, and vendor demonstrations. A listserv, bulletin board, newsletter and brochures will be developed to disseminate information on assistive technologies. |

Dr. Jamie Savedoff Ms. Karen Warner $90,000 |
It is the intent of the Middlesex County ETTC to expand and enhance its activities and services throughout the seven county region to further address the needs of students with disabilities. This goal will be achieved by conducting workshops, providing hands-on skill development programs, and increasing the network of professionals that can provide technical assistance on behalf of individual students with regard to assistive technology. Additionally, every MCETTC training program incorporates how technology can be used to meet the needs of students with disabilities in the classroom. Dissemination of information will be increased through multiple means (website, brochures, MCETTC Resource Library) to teachers, related service personnel administrators and parents regarding assistive technology. |
