Louis, Superintendent Project DescriptionMonongahela and Lake Tract Schools in Deptford and Woodlynne School will be using the Matrix Grant to enhance instruction and achievement in mathematics through the use of technology in grades 6 and 7. There will be an intensive staff developing and mentoring program for teachers to provide ongoing support in new teaching strategies and in ways of integrating technology into their daily instruction. Teachers and students will use calculators and software, such as Geometer's Sketchpad, GollyGee Blocks, and Excel to better understand mathematical concepts. Students will participate in an after-school and summer enrichment program to improve achievement in mathematics. Students will create multimedia projects displaying their understanding of mathematical concepts. Technology Used
