Timeline

Phase 1 (Fall '14-Summer '16)* –

January 28th: Notify districts of participation in the edConnect NJ program

February 12th: A webinar to demonstrate the system and provide further information and understand fully what the system can provide for educators. See webinar here.

March 14th: Webinar to provide expectations of the district, implementation approach and timeline, and team configuration. See webinar here.

March 31st: Pre-registration due – all phase 1 districts should respond regardless if they have decided to implement the system. Please send back with a "Yes," "No" or "Still Considering." Find the pre-registration form here.

May 6th  at 10am: This will be the final webinar before the May 15th MOU deadline in which the MOU will be reviewed and released. In this webinar we will discuss all information pertinent to districts in order for them to make a informed decision about implementation.

May 15th: MOU due. This MOU will be released at the May 6th webinar and will be sent to you superintendent as well as the contacts we currently have on file. This is for all Phase 1 districts who will be implementing the system this fall '14. This is the final deadline to be considered a phase 1 district.

June 1st: Districts engage with Pearson and the NJDOE to transfer necessary data from local school information system (SIS)

July-August: Train 12 month employees on edConnect NJ (administrators, supervisors, central district staff, volunteer teachers)

September: Full launch of edConnect NJ

Early September: Train all classroom teachers and administrators on the edConnect components
*Phase 1 – 36 no-cost districts, districts with Race to the Top 3 dedicated funds, and grant awardees.

Pilot (Spring '14-Summer '14)

January 28th: Return "edConnect NJ – Intent to Participate"

February 4th: Full day kick-off meeting with pilot district teams (suggested team structure on " edConnect NJ – Intent to Participate")

February 10th-March 31st: District Technology team engages with NJDOE to transfer student information system (SIS) data

March 31st-Arpil 1st: Two trainings will be provided to your district which must be turn keyed

April 10th: Launch of the pilot edConnect NJ in district

May-June: Focus groups with educators in your district facilitated by the NJDOE

July-August: Train 12 month employees (not included in pilot) on edConnect NJ (administrators, supervisors, central district staff, volunteer teachers)

September: Full launch of edConnect NJ

Early September: Train all classroom teachers and administrators on the edConnect NJ components
