Nonpublic Technology Initiative Recommended
2014 - 2015 Timelines:

All Nonpublic Schools were required to indicate a desire to participate when they filled out the annual Nonpublic School enrollment report. If a school did not indicate a desire to participate, that school cannot participate for the 2014-15 school year. The desire to participate must be indicated every year on the annual Nonpublic School Enrollment Report.

"Nonpublic Technology Aid Notice" is typically posted in DOE District's home room by
late July

NJDOE supplies entitlement figure to the public school

July 2014

Payment sent from NJDOE to the public school as a lump sum.

Typically by July 31

Nonpublic school consults with public school

Allow time for the public school to add the topic to the agenda prior to the public session of the public school Board of Education (BOE) meeting.

 By October 1st

Nonpublic school submits request for technology and/ or professional development to public school
It is suggested that this be completed within a week of the consultation.

 By the end of September

Public school's BOE approves nonpublic school request at Board meeting

Before October 31

Public school submits agreement to the Executive County Superintendent
Agreement contains:

  • Written verification of meeting nonpublic school
  • BOE minutes from approval meeting

Oct. 31, 2014

Public school district orders equipment and/or services (after all approvals)

Allow time for bidding process, if applicable.

Coordinate with public school

If a nonpublic school declines to participate, please do not send a refund check to the Department. Any such checks will be returned to the public school district. All refunds will be collected through a state aid payment deduction after the FY15 Nonpublic Project Completion Report (NPCR) has been completed.

REMINDER: NOTE ON REPORTING DATE TO QUALIFY FOR AID IN 2015-2016
The Nonpublic School Enrollment Report (application process) will be due to the New Jersey Department
of Education by November 2014.  The specific date will be included with the report's instructions.

the students this school year!
