Maximum Per-Child Expenditure for Supplemental Educational Services (SES)

Districts with Title I schools in need of improvement (year 3 and above) must offer SES to eligible students. The district is responsible for arranging SES with approved providers selected by the parents of eligible students. The district must use Title I funds to pay for these services. The per-pupil financial obligation is the lesser of the actual cost of the services, or an amount based on the following formula: an amount equal to the district’s Title I, Part A allocation received from the state divided by the number of poor students in the district, as determined by estimates produced by the US Bureau of the Census. Click on the link below to see the "SES maximum per-pupil amount," calculated using this formula. This amount is listed by district and reflects the statutory district "cap" on per-child expenditures for SES.
