TEACHER AND PRINCIPAL EVALUATION TIMELINE WAIVER
DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS

On August 2, 2012 New Jersey was granted a waiver of the timeline to meet the SIG final requirements for teacher and principal evaluation.  The chart below describes the process for reviewing extension requests received from eligible LEAs.

August 2, 2012 USDE approves NJDOE Waiver Request
August 21, 2012 An Invitation to apply for waiver sent to LEAs with eligible SIG schools
August 31, 2012 LEA waiver requests due to NJDOE
September 4, 2012 SIG Office reviews applications for completeness, forwards copy of application to and schedules review meetings with Regional Achievement Centers (RACs) staff.
September 5 – 19, 2012 SIG Office reviews applications in conjunction with the RAC Executive Director or their designee.
September 20, 2012 All requested revisions due to the SIG Office
September 21, 2012 Waiver decision letters sent to LEAs
