Technical Guidance for Title I Program Managers
The Technical Guidance for Title I Program Managers presentation was developed through a collaborative effort under the Office of Title I Program Planning and Accountability in cooperation with regional offices, county education offices, the Office of Grants Management, the Office of Educational Assessment and Standards and New Jersey Professional Education Port (NJPEP).
The purpose of the module is to enable Title I districts and schools and school identified in need of improvement access to ongoing technical assistance to meet program and fiscal goals.
The presentation has been segmented into the following eleven sections. The sections are critical to the articulation of Title I policies and programs at the district and school level. The sections have been divided into two categories: Basic Program and Specific Components. All sections relate responsibilities associated with Title I administration and how to implement policies associated with the No Child Left Behind Act.
Section 1: An Overview of No Child Left Behind provides an overview of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
Section 2: The Single Accountability System provides regulatory information related to the No Child Left Behind Act.
Section 3: Determining Title I Eligibility for Public Schools and Private Schools provides regulatory information related to how to determine criteria for public school and private participation in Title I programs.
Section 4: Scientifically Based Research Programs provide information related to how programs should be established on scientific research and principles.
Section 5: Targeted Assistance Schools (TAS) and Schoolwide Program (SWP) Schools provides information on criteria, eligibility and components of programs that use Title I funding.
Section 6: Professional Development in Title I Schools provides information on teacher professional development in Title I schools.
Section 7: Paraprofessionals - provides information on guidelines for paraprofessionals.
Section 8: Parental Involvement provides information on parental involvement regulations and requirements.
Section 9: School Choice and Supplemental Educational Services provides information on school choice and supplemental educational services.
Section 10: Title I Program Managers Checklist provides a checklist for Title I managers to follow as a guideline for program implementation.
Section 11: Web Site Information provides information on online and manual resources.
