The Fort Monmouth Region
Fort Monmouth is located in the Jersey Shore region of the Atlantic Ocean in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Monmouth and Ocean Counties' rich diversity extends to its vast and impressive array of cultural and recreational attractions. Indoor activities range from excellent theater, dance and musical performances by local and nationally prominent artists, to tours of historic sites and museums, art galleries, antiquing, ice and roller-skating, and shopping. Out of doors, residents and visitors can fully enjoy the counties' naturally exquisite resources that include a 72-mile stretch of beach and over 10,000 acres of park lands, conservation areas and golf courses.

Within Monmouth County, there are 27 miles of Atlantic Ocean shoreline and 26 miles of bay coastline. Ocean County provides an additional 45 miles of Atlantic Ocean shoreline. These waterfront areas, in addition to the numerous lakes and rivers in the area, provide year-round sport and commercial fishing, as well as all forms of water recreation. Swimming, boating, crabbing, sunbathing and surfing are just some of the leisure activities that residents and tourists enjoy during the summer months.
