State Automotive Parts Contract - 04/17/2008
The State Purchase Bureau has awarded a new automotive parts contract to AutoZone, under the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance. AutoZone has been assigned New Jersey State contract # A71188. This contract will replace the existing auto parts contract that expires on April 30. The contract provides lower pricing than the previous contract and access to a wide range of services through AutoZone's national OEM, OEM equivalents, replacement, remanufactured and rebuilt product network. CY 2008/SFY 2009 State Aid Certifications - 03/04/2008
Local Finance Notice 2008-5 provides local officials important information about Municipal State Aid as proposed by Governor Corzine for the State's FY 2009 budget. State Aid Certifications for each municipality are posted at www.nj.gov/dca/lgs/muniaid/aidmenu.shtml and are downloadable as individual PDF files. A worksheet of the full proposed CY 2008/SFY 2009 aid allocations are also posted at that site. SFY municipalities are reminded that this posting is advisory for them - a final posting will be made once the State's budget is finalized at the end of June.

IRS Revises Taxable Fringe Benefits Guide - 02/19/2008
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Federal, State and Local Governments has issued an updated Taxable Fringe Benefits Guide. According to the IRS, the guide can be a helpful tool for anyone responsible for determining the taxability, withholding, and reporting requirements for employee fringe benefits by providing a basic understanding of the tax issues and reporting under the Internal Revenue Code, regulations, and procedures. CY 2008 Municipal and County Budget Guidance - 02/15/2008
Local Finance Notice 2008-3 describes a number of important issues relating to the budget and must be read by all finance officials. The Levy Cap Calculation Excel workbook and a PDF of general information on Implementing the Property Tax Levy Cap Law must be consulted by local officials preparing their CY 2008 budgets. County finance officials previously received their Levy Cap Calculation workbook, but should also review the Finance Notice and the Implementation document as they reflect up to the minute information.

Bid Acceptance Date Limits - 01/07/2008
Local Finance Notice 2008-1 provides information about limits on dates public bids can be accepted. This will assist local units remain in compliance with State laws limiting the receipt of bids on Mondays and days after State or federal holidays. CY 2008 Municipal and County Budget Appropriation Cap COLA Rate - 11/05/2007
Local Finance Notice 2007-22 announces the CY 2008 appropriation cap COLA rate of five percent (5%). This rate is still limited by the statutory limits of 2.5% and 3.5% with a COLA ordinance.
