Chief Executive Officer, Economic Development Authority
Ms. Brown serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA). The EDA is a State agency that serves as New Jersey’s bank by financing small and mid-sized businesses, administering tax incentives to retain and grow jobs, revitalizing communities through redevelopment initiatives, and supporting entrepreneurial development by providing access to training and mentoring programs. Ms. Brown joined the Authority in October 2012.Ms. Brown most recently served as Appointments Counsel to Governor Chris Christie, where she provided strategic and legal guidance to the Governor. In this capacity, Ms. Brown was responsible for identifying, recruiting and vetting Cabinet officials, senior executive candidates, judicial and prosecutorial nominees, and volunteer board, commission and authority members.
Ms. Brown has an extensive background practicing law, serving 18 years at the United States Attorney’s Office, New Jersey district, specializing in white collar prosecutions that included corporate fraud, bank fraud and tax and money laundering offenses. Her work has been recognized by the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
A native of Trenton, New Jersey, Ms. Brown received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Drew University.
