Gary Rose was appointed to his position by Governor Jon S. Corzine in March, 2006. The office is responsible for the overall policy direction of state government activities that affect the business community and will directly oversee the research, policy and coordination functions that affect Economic Development throughout the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Rose retired from the investment banking firm of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1999 after 25 years in its Investment Banking Division. During the last six years, he served on a number of boards of directors of non-profit entities, including The Corporation for Supportive Housing, The Fund for New Jersey and The Henry H. Kessler Foundation.
Mr. Rose received a Bachelor of Arts degree, from the University of Pennsylvania, a Juris Doctorate degree, from Georgetown University, and a Masters in Business Administration degree, from Harvard University.
He and his wife, Karen, have two grown sons.
