“One of my favorite traditions as First Lady is to welcome visitors to Drumthwacket during the holiday season,” said Mrs. Christie. “This year’s theme, ‘Drumthwacket on Stage,’ showcases the tremendous talents of our vibrant theatre community and the breathtaking creativity of New Jersey’s garden clubs. The Governor and I are delighted that thousands of adults and children will tour the historic residence to experience Drumthwacket dressed for the holidays."
Students from the Morris Arts Mentoring Program will once again decorate the 2013 National Christmas Tree display in Washington, DC this holiday season. Professional artists/mentors Dan Fenelon and Susan Faiola, along with students from Morris Arts’ Morristown High School Art Mentoring Program and the school’s National Art Honor Society designed and created the ornaments for New Jersey’s tree which will be displayed in Washington, DC at President’s Park.
Over 50 service projects in Sandy impacted communities were completed by over 3000 volunteers to mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.
Mrs. Christie and the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund announced a partnership with Verizon, the Department of Children and Families, and the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women to support domestic violence programs and services during a press conference at 180 Turning Lives Around in Hazlet.
