TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine signed the following bills into law Thursday, December 4:
ACS for A-562 (Dancer): Establishes Public Assistance Cost Reduction and Transportation Independence Pilot Program to transfer surplus State motor vehicles to certain nonprofit organizations
A-1113/S-1898 (Cryan, Burzichelli, Voss/Turner): Reduces notice that school district is required to give superintendent of schools if district determines not to reappoint
A-1498/S-564 (Burzichelli, Fisher, Albano, Milam/Sweeney, Bucco): Daniel Mackay’s Law; requires certain information be given to next of kin of relatives killed or incapacitated in motor vehicle accident; caps certain abandoned vehicle storage fees
A-2231/S-1337 (Cryan, Pou/Sarlo): Establishes Organized Retail Theft Task Force
A-2232/S-1768 (Cryan, Coutinho/Sarlo, Kyrillos): Permits siting of NJ Hall of Fame project anywhere in State; clarifies responsibility of NJ Sports and Exposition Authority to establish corporation to operate project and specifies membership of corporation
A-2731/S-1908 (Wisniewski, Greenstein, DeAngelo, Rudder, Evans/Buono, Oroho): Permits municipalities and counties to make certain traffic engineering decisions without DOT approval
A-2871/S-1894 (Love, Moriarty/Madden, Redd): Permits victim of domestic abuse to terminate residential lease under certain circumstances; provides procedure for tenant to recover security deposit
AJR-60/SJR-64 (Greenwald, Lampitt/Buono): Designates October of each year as "Blindness Awareness Month" in New Jersey
AJR-76/SJR-38 (Cryan, Ramos, Cruz-Perez, Schaer, Vas/Lesniak, Ruiz): Designates September 15 through October 15 of each year as Hispanic Heritage Month in New Jersey
