Governor Corzine's Statement on the Death of Ray Brown, Sr.

TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine issued the following statement regarding the death of Ray Brown, Sr.:

"I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Ray Brown, Sr. yesterday. As one of the first African Americans to be admitted to the New Jersey Bar and a staunch civil rights activist, Mr. Brown helped break the color and race barrier in our legal system and was able to usher in a new era of opportunity for many talented African American lawyers in this state. He was a trailblazer for all of us who believe in equal justice under the law. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Brown's family and friends."
