GOVERNOR CORZINE SIGNS LEGISLATION

TRENTON - Governor Corzine has signed the following bills:

S-222/A-1740 (Karcher, Buono/Johnson, Vainieri Huttle, Greenstein) – Prohibits political contributions by all State and local public agencies.

S-1099/A-4146 (Codey, Palaia/Moriarty, Mayer, Cruz-Perez, Hackett) – Makes it a primary offense for motorists to talk on or text message with hand-held wireless telephone or electronic communication device while driving.

S-1213/A-3450 (Turner/Cohen, Gusciora) – Requires certain disclosures of information on development subsidies.

SCS for S-1195/ACS for A-992 (Madden, Vitale/Stender, Cohen, Green, Greenstein) – Establishes pharmacy’s duty to fill prescriptions for in-stock drugs or devices without delay, notwithstanding sincerely held moral, philosophical or religious beliefs of pharmacist.

S-2505/A-4013 (Codey, Kean/Panter, Schaer, O’Toole, Malone, Biondi, Vas) – Requires governmental affairs agent to report particular items in annual appropriation legislation or appropriation legislation supplement thereto on which agent acted.

S-2506/A-4014 (Codey, Allen/Conners, Conaway, McKeon, Malone, Biondi, O’Toole, Vas) – Prohibits candidates from contributing campaign funds to charity in which candidate or candidate’s immediate family is an officer or employee or receives compensation for goods or services provided to the charity.

SJR-41/AJR-125 (Scutari, Lance/Conners, Conaway, Chivukula) – Designates May of each year as “New Jersey Eyeglass Recycling Month.”

ACS for A-4011/S-2503 (Greenstein, Panter, O’Toole, Malone/Codey, Kyrillos) – Establishes the position of Ethics Counsel and mandates certain ethics consultation and training in the Legislative Branch of State government.
